This weekend members of the Riverdale Fire Department staffed the station as we always do, 100% volunteer. This included up staffing to run multiple crews during the storm. During the storm Engine 73, Ambulance 77, and medic 812 were alerted to Crescent City's Nursing Home in out first due for one reported not breathing. Engine 73 and Ambulance 77 arrived on the scene to find a patient who was in fact a working code. Crews immediately begun CPR and setting up the AED. Crews preformed CPR until ALS arrived and assisted in transport to the hospital.

When the crew turned the patient over to hospital care the patient had a pulse and was spontaneously breathing. Crews answered several other calls during the snow storm including a working fire and other emergencies. But this is not a normal outcome on this type of call. The Officers of the department are please to say, Job well done!!
