This past weekend, The Riverdale Fire Department, Incorporated held its 100 Year Anniversary Celebration. The event was held over two days. Which included a casual family day bbq get together at Riverside Park on Friday, May 5th followed by a formal Gala held at Martin’s Crosswinds Saturday evening.

The department started as a group of concerned citizens in the early 1900’s and was officially incorporated on January 27, 1923.  Over the course of 100 years, the department has had many triumphs as well as struggles, but with the dedication of the men and women of the department we always have and will continue to provide service to the citizens of Riverdale Park and the surrounding communities.

 A good time was had by all that attended both functions and along with past members reliving the ‘good old days’, the newer members gained valuable insights into what it truly means to be a Riverdale Volunteer.  The friendships made and spirit of family that was prevalent, touched all in attendance.
