On the morning of February 6, Tower 7 was alerted as the second due truck to 8300 Baltimore Ave in company 12's first due at 0147hrs. Tower 7 responded with 4 personnel and arrived as the second due truck. Upon the arivial of Tower 7 Command assigned the Tower to check the trash room and chute. The crew made their way to the trash room and encountered smoke in the hallway as they approached the door. The crew forced entry to the trash room to find fire and smoke in the trash room. The officer called for a line and reported an active fire in the trash room. The tower crew opened up the loading dock door and saw the engine from 11 outside not being used. While the can man was holding the fire in check, the officer and entry man pulled a cross lay from company 11's engine. The fire was controlled in under 5 minutes and command started to scale back the assignment. Tower 7 remained on the scene to assist in ventalation of the building and returned to service at 0326hrs.
