On Thursday April 17, 2014 at 1937hrs PSC dispatched Engine 72 as part of the rescue assignment to Southbound Baltimore and Washington Parkway for a reported single vehicle accident with one off the road. Engine 72, Chief 7 and Chief 7A responded with 7 personnel as the Northbound assignment.

Engine 72 arrived on the scene on the Northbound side of the median and confirmed they had a vehicle off the road with one trapped. Chief 7A arrived on the scene and established the command. Engine 72's crew advanced a protection line, made access into the vehicle, and started providing patient care. Once the arrival of the Operations Deputy Chief, Chief 7A was assigned the extrication group.

With an extensive extrication and several patients other units were dispatched to the scene. Engine 72 cleared the scene at 2023hrs.
