Tower 807 Responds on 35 Box 2 Alarmer

December 21st, 2016 - Approximately 0100 hours Tower 807 was dispatched as the second due special service for a reported fire on the 7800 block of Hanover Parkway in Company 35's (Greenbelt) first due.Tower 807 with a crew of 6 volunteers and Chief 807B were alerted by units on scene that there was fire showing through the roof. When Tower 807 arrived on scene the volunteers went immediately to work on division 2 with the crew from Engine 812 (College Park). Crews also assisted with opening up the apartment and salvage and overhaul operations. The volunteers operated on scene until approximately 0245 hours.

 

 

 
Tower Runs 13 Box With Civilian Trapped

November 23rd, 2016 - At approximately 0230 hours Tower 807 was dispatched for a house fire with a report of people trapped. Engine 813 (Riverdale Heights) arrived to find fire showing from multiple sides of the dwelling. Communications also reported that a person was trapped within the house. Tower 807 arrived on scene and began to make entry on the dwelling. Once inside crews from Engine 828 and Tower 807 located the victim and assisted the resident out to awaiting medics on location. The tower continued to operate on location performing primary and secondary searches as well as overhaul operations. The Tower remained on location till 0730 hours.

 

 
Tower Runs Late Night 55 Box

November 11th, 2016 -  At approximately 0300 hours Tower 807 was alerted for a possible structure fire in Company 855's (Bunker Hill) first due. Engine 809 arrived along with Command (Chief 809A) to find smoke coming from a single story auto maintenance garage / fuel station. Tower 807 arrived as the second due special service on the assignment and assisted with lighting and ventilation operating for approximately 45 minutes.

 

 
The Volunteers Welcome Two New Members In Novembers Meeting

November 8th 2016 - The Riverdale Volunteer Fire Department would like to take some time to introduce two new friendly faces joining our family here at Riverdale. Pictured below is Eliana Martinez and James Mason. Both have met with the membership committee and seem very eager to help our wonderful community, then we had the pleasure of welcoming them into our Riverdale family at the general business meeting in November. If you see them around the community or at the station feel free to also welcome them!

 

 

 
Volunteers Host Advanced Search And RIT Class

November 5th, 2016 - The volunteers were happy to host an Advance Search and RIT Training class taught by Spec Rescue International. Volunteers from Riverdale along with members from companies 6, 10, 25, 42 and 43 were all able to participate in this great training as well. The class was hosted at PGFD Company 16.
